Applying for a Property:
The following information is intended for anyone wishing to apply for a property through Perthshire Property Services.
Application Form:
We require each person who will be staying at the property to fill in and sign a Perthshire Property Services Application to Rent Form.

References:
We require each applicant to send three references. We ask that one
is from your bank and the other two are character references. Character
references must be from an employer, a previous landlord or a professional
person who has know you for over 3 years. If you are currently
renting a property then one reference must come from your current landlord,
similarly, if you are currently employed then you must provide a reference
from your employer. These will be checked by ourselves and also
an independent referencing firm which may be subject to a charge of
£35pp inc VAT.
Bond:
A deposit is required. The deposit must be received prior to the signing of the lease. Please note the minimum deposit we take is £500. If you pay by cheque a minimum of five working days must be allowed for it to clear. Remember you must also pay one months rent in advance.
Identification:
We require two forms of identification. These could be a birth certificate, full driving licence, full ten year passport, new style National Insurance card or bank cheque guarantee card.
Proof of Entitlement:
(Housing Benefit tenants only) If you intend to claim Housing Benefit you must provide us with proof that you are receiving benefit from the Benefits Agency (B.A.) e.g. Income Support. A recently dated letter from the Benefits Agency is required stating that you are in receipt of benefit and the name of the benefit you receive.
When we have all the necessary documentation we will then make arrangements to proceed with your application, subject to the receipt of satisfactory references.
Administration: In the event that a prospective tenant completes an application to rent form however does not proceed with the tenancy and sign a Tenancy Agreement they will be liable for administration charges which will equate to the value of two weeks rent of the property they have applied for.
